How this site makes money — plainly
Three ways, in order of importance:
- Our villa. We own Palazzetto Manassei in Collestatte and this site recommends it. That’s the primary reason the site exists commercially. We keep the selling within rules we’ve set publicly: at most one villa mention per guide page, and wherever we compare places to stay, our interest is declared in the text itself – see where to stay for how that looks in practice.
- Affiliate links. Some links to tours, experiences or booking platforms may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Where a page contains them, it says so. We only link things we’d recommend anyway – the recommendation comes first, the link second.
- Local partnerships. We may hold referral arrangements with local operators we send villa guests to (rafting, truffle hunts, riding). Where an operator appears in a guide AND we hold such an arrangement, the page discloses it.
What we don’t do
- No pay-for-coverage – ever. No restaurant, attraction, hotel or operator can pay to appear in our guides, improve their ranking, or soften a verdict. The rankings are ours, based on visits we paid for ourselves.
- No display advertising at present – no ad networks, no sponsored posts. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
- No free stays or freebies influencing reviews. If we ever accept a hosted experience, the piece will say so at the top.
Why be this explicit?
Because the site’s value is trust in its facts, and money is where trust usually leaks. We’d rather over-disclose and bore you than have you wonder. Questions about any of it: ask us directly.
